You must comply with the yacht and ship brokers act in order to work as a yacht broker in the state of Florida. To comply you must first complete the Yacht Broker Salesperson Application which is regulated by the Yacht And Ship Brokers Section of DBPR Tallahassee Florida, they perform licensing, educational, and investigative proceedings. The Florida Yacht And Ship Brokers Act program has been in effect since October 1988 and was brought into action in order to protect the consumer, respond to complaints and inquiries concerning the yacht brokerage industry.
